Join us for SAGA's first Sacred Art and Architecture Crawl – September 30

In order to become familiar with the various forms of sacred art and architecture that exists in and around Calgary, SAGA has decided to sponsor occasional sacred art and architecture “crawls” during the next year.  We plan to explore various denominational traditions so that we can see how different traditions create different forms of sacred space and use art and architecture to enhance their workshop experience.

Our first Sacred Art and Architecture Crawl will take place on September 30 and will explore several Catholic churches in central Calgary.   The tour will be led by Simone Brosig, Director of Liturgy for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary.  Simone holds a Ph.D. in Medieval Studies and has given much thought to the interplay sacred space and art in relation to the liturgy.
Participants will meet at 9:30 on the front steps of St. Mary’s Cathedral.   We will end our tour at Sacred Heart Parish.

Fee: This event is free to all SAGA members and $10 for non-SAGA.

To register to attend please simply email:  We will then email you directions and further details of the event.  We will be driving between venues, so please let us know if you would like to carpool from St. Mary's.
The tour should end between 12:00 and 12:30.  Participants may wish to join together for an informal lunch at a local restaurant following the tour in order to continue our conversation and fellowship.
