Studio Talk and SAGA Christmas Potluck
December 2, 2017
Heraldry as an Art
with Br. Robert-Charles Bengry

Celebrate the Advent and Christmas season with a Studio Talk and Christmas Potluck with fellow SAGA members.

We are pleased that Br. Robert-Charles Bengry, a heraldic artist will be joining us.  Br. Benegry is Prior of a small Gilbertine Community which recently moved to Calgary and is based at St. John the Evangelist Church in Inglewood.

Br. Bengry describes himself as a life-long heraldic enthusiast and is one of the team of artists commissioned by the Heraldic Authority of Canada. In addition to his work for the Heraldic Authority of Canada, Br. Bengry undertakes private commissions and has a special interest in ecclesiastical heraldry.

Br. Bengry will be talking to us about heraldry as a specialized art form, the symbolism involved in heraldry, and the methods that he uses for creating his works.  He will have examples of his work for us to see.

The presentation and discussion period will be followed by a pre-Christmas potluck dinner.  This event is free to all SAGA members and their spouses.
Time:  December 2, , 2-6 pm
Location : 9872 Athens Road SE, Calgary

Please RSVP to joanne.p.ronan@telus.net and whether you can attend and let her know what you can contribute to the potluck.
