About Maria

Maria Muszynski is a Calgary artist, illustrator,  and retired school teacher with a wide variety of experiences in the visual and theatre arts. 

Maria paints with passion in a variety of styles and media, from realistically rendered still-life compositions, to colourful abstracted assemblages, to exquisite traditional icons and illuminations.

She holds a BFA and B. Ed. from the University of Calgary. She is a member of the Burns Visual Arts Society (Canada’s longest continuous artist collective) and the Parkland Painting Collective. In addition, she is a founding member and Past President of the Sacred Arts Guild of Alberta.
